The Contingent Workforce and the PRO Perspective

PRO was founded in 1991, in response to what we believed was a critical need in the contingent workforce marketplace. The workplace at the time was in the early stages of a dramatic transformation. Large companies were downsizing their workforce in an attempt to reduce headcount and gain more flexibility. This in turn led to a large scale increase in temporary employment staffing, and in the use of independent contractors, returning retirees, freelancers and consultants. A group commonly referred to today as the contingent workforce.
While many companies addressed the need to recruit and place workers for this growing workforce, no one was responding to the ever increasing need to manage the overall process. For large corporations, the contingent workforce was quickly becoming one of the most critical and costly elements of their operation. An element that would increasingly present challenges from a management, tax and benefit liability perspective.
We founded PRO Unlimited to meet this void in the marketplace. Throughout the years we have consistently added to our service offerings, leading to a well earned reputation as an innovator that consistently responds to the needs of our clients. In each case, our new services have been developed not in ivory tower offices, but by listening closely to the marketplace and working in partnership with our customers.
We firmly believe our tremendous success throughout the years has been due in no small part to this commitment to working with our customers to achieve innovation. We also believe that our success would not have been possible without a commitment to a very basic principle of customer service that has been a part of our corporate philosophy since its inception. That simple principle is to always deliver more than our customer expects, and to deliver our services with an eye toward exceptional integrity, competence and execution.
